Event Focus: Environmental Exploration

Now that Innovation Montessori Ocoee has arrived at our new campus on 18 acres of beautiful land including a 4 ½ acre nature preserve and over 200 saved trees, we are ready to showcase all of the amazing things we are doing to educate and lead the way in green initiatives.  We continue to lead by example as we use Pureti pollution eating paint, hamster wheels and kinetic riders generating energy, gardens, repurposed felled trees as seating, solar panels across our buildings and a solar flower array to boost energy production.  Come and tour our campus to see some of these amazing things in action and to explore how we make it all happen.  We’ll also have a phenomenal featured speaker, Rob Greenfield, at 1PM who is a “dude making a difference” in the areas of green living, the “tiny house” and minimalist living movement, and food waste reduction.  He’ll be helping us understand how we can all take action to “Be the Change”.  Our art make ‘n take projects will inspire attendees to reuse and re-purpose household items into works of art to be showcased!  Learn what you can do to live a more sustainable life with seminars hosted throughout the day by our sponsors and partners.

Innovation Montessori Ocoee is located on an 18-acre environmentally-aware campus:

  • Over 200 trees saved during our school’s construction
  • Campus powered by solar panels
  • Home to the first solar flower in the state of Florida
  • Pollution eating paint on our primary building
  • Air purification solution on our windows
  • Water irrigation pump system that recirculates rain and run off water for our property
  • Butterfly garden with pollinator plants
  • Four acres of undeveloped wet lands
  • Bat boxes
  • Parent Green Team
  • Student garden clubs
