IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT COVID-19

Providing your child a fun, safe, and memorable summer, while fostering a love for the Arts, Nature and the Environment is our #1 goal at Camp Lakewood. We are excited to offer an opportunity for kids to get outside and have something fun to look forward to after being quarantined for so long.

Camp Lakewood’s staff has put in place a number of precautionary measures to address concerns related to the COVID-19 Coronavirus.

Some Precautionary Measures Have Implemented…

  • Fresh air and walks…
Much of camp takes place outdoors. The doors at Camp Base are kept wide open throughout the day with constant air flow bringing in fresh air in from the outside.
  • Daily health screening and temperature checks…
Each morning upon arrival, campers’ temperature will be taken with a no-touch thermal scanner prior to entering the Camp Base Multi-Purpose Room.  If a camper has a fever at or above 100.4 degrees F, we will ask that the camper be kept at home.
  • Small groups…
Campers will be divided into and remain with the same small group throughout the majority of camp.  Each group will have its own set of materials and supplies that will not be shared with other groups.  Activities and gatherings take place in several locations throughout Camp Lakewood at Innovation Montessori Ocoee to facilitate social distancing between groups.
  • Face masks…
Campers should come prepared to wear a mask, however, we will follow CDC guidelines in place at the time of your camp session with regard to mask-wearing and social distancing.
  • Social distancing…
We ask that parents to please wear masks and maintain social distance while waiting in line during check-in and check-out.  Access to the Multi-Purpose Room beyond check-in will be limited to staff and campers.
  • Cleaning, cleaning, and more cleaning…
On-going disinfection efforts and cleaning of camp activity areas, high touched surfaces, materials, tools and supplies with disinfecting solutions will take place throughout the day.

We continue to closely monitor state and local mandates as well and CDC and health department safety guidelines for additional precautionary measures.
